Medicaid & CHIP
Approximately half of the children in the United States rely on Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to get the medical care they need. Medicaid is the single largest source of health coverage for children in the United States and a cornerstone of their ability to access the care they need. Yet too many children still face barriers to care, especially when they need specialized physical or behavioral health services or must travel across state lines for lifesaving, time-sensitive treatment.
To create the next generation of astronauts, engineers, and creatives, Medicaid must work for children. That means strengthening and stabilizing its financing to support the pediatric workforce and ensure timely access to medically necessary care. To protect our future, we must safeguard and strengthen Medicaid and CHIP for the millions of children who rely on it to lead healthy, productive lives.
